Why Use Motion Detection Cameras?

Motion detection cameras are one of the most extensively used type of cameras for safety. These type of cameras cover wide area ranges, and have the ability to detect through walls and other opaque obstructions. Normal security cameras just provide you with images, but a motion detection camera can provide with a video, as it records the motion in the camera range.

An average low cost motion detection camera can detect up to a 15 feet range. Specialized cameras have a higher range, but cost a huge amount.

These motion detection cameras though, have a big disadvantage. The alarm is set off due to the slightest of changes in the surroundings- like the wind, or the change in lighting conditions, or by mere insects, or by pets themselves.

A CCTV (closed circuit television) camera monitors the interior and exterior of a particular property, and transmits the signal to one or many monitors.

Motion detection cameras are way much better than normal CCTV cameras. A CCTV camera can only monitor whatever is going on. There is no alarm as such, here. It just provides evidence with pictures after some crime. A motion detection camera, on the other hand, sets off an alarm when it detects any disturbance in its surroundings. A slight change in lighting or the wind can set off the alarm, let alone a human body crossing the infrared grid. Also, it provides with a detailed video for better evidence.

Motion detection cameras and CCTV cameras both have advantages. They save money, as the cameras are a one time investment, whereas security guards required to be paid on a monthly basis. Secondly, it provides better protection. You can always have a look at the incidents happening in your absence. Third, it is more reliable than a security guard, who is only human and humans have tendencies of lying. Cameras don’t lie. Everything is crystal clear in front of your eyes. Lastly, these cameras save a lot of time and energy. You don’t need to sit in your house, guarding it all the time. In motion detection cameras, the camera is in sleep mode when no motion is detected, and hence, energy is not wasted.

Above all, stay safe and keep safe.
